Why An Independent Appraiser?

You Deserve an Honest, Unbiased Appraisal

Most jewelry appraisers are not independent in that they sometimes buy, sell or broker what they appraise—be it jewelry, watches, loose stones, gold and/or silver.

Lash has long been a crusader against the unethical practices of non-independent appraisers who have financial ties to jewelry marketing establishments.

His truly independent status gives him a fiduciary relationship with clients—his appraisals are only in their best interest—because he does not buy, sell or broker. He also lobbies nationally for upholding the ethics and standards of his industry.

Recognized Worldwide as an Independent Jewelry Appraiser

Independen-Jewelry-Valuer

In 2011, Vincent was honored with an invitation to be only the 24th worldwide member of the elite Association of Independent Jewellery Valuers (AIJV).  Invitation to international membership in the AIJV demonstrates a valuer’s record, reputation, and willingness to comply with the strict AIJV Code of Ethics.  This code assures that the appraiser (known internationally as a “Valuer”) is beyond reproach in standards of integrity, conduct, experience, professionalism, equipment and of course, independence. Today there are only 42 valuers so honored in the world.

Over 400 insurance agencies refer their clients to Vincent Lash & Co. on a regular basis—most having hosted jewelry, silver, and clock appraising events with him in their own offices.

Lisa Fuller, a District Manager with Erie Insurance summed up his integrity and value when she wrote, “Vince is truly independent and when he gives you an appraisal, you can be confident that it is an accurate reflection of the value. Vincent is a Graduate Gemologist, has integrity, expertise and by the way, his rates are very, very fair. You can go further, and pay more, but not get anything better than what Vincent Lash provides.”
